Inspiring: Spain’s R.O. Solar Water Plant

Seeing Spain’s new solar powered reverse osmosis water plant, floating on top of the water in hexagonal forms that remind me of bee hives, sparked both inspiration and jealousy. I want to wash, clean, and bathe with water cleaned at a molecular level too!

Over the course of 10 years, 2.6 billion dollars are being spent on installing seismic resistant pipes in my city’s local river-based water plant.

While I want to be excited that our infrastructure will hold up to natural disasters specific to the area, this endeavor will end with river water that’s “cleaned” using chlorine and ammonia being pumped through those shiny new pipes to my home.

Right now, 573 million tax dollars from the state, county, and city are going towards making updates to the city’s main entertainment center…I’d rather the tax money go towards new water treatment methods!

And why is there a vote about a quarter of the city’s Clean Energy Fund going to Police? If that money was going anywhere, wouldn’t it be going towards reverse osmosis or distillation installments? Or if we want to go off on a tangent, redirect the money towards the public schools that are starting the 26-27 school year short staffed after severe layoffs that went into effect last spring to close a budget deficit!

I’m scared. Do our directors of city tax dollars hate us, or do they not know better…or both?
